Community-Centered Leadership: My Vision for La Plata Town Council
After two decades in law enforcement specializing in substance abuse and mental health services, I’m stepping forward as a candidate for La Plata Town Council. My career has taught me that our community’s greatest challenges require collaborative, strength-based solutions.
Throughout my service, I’ve had the privilege of:
- Two-decade career as a law enforcement officer and officer of the court
- Creating rehabilitation programs that help returning citizens reintegrate into our community with dignity and purpose
- Program Manager for Federal Women’s Program and Founding Member Federally Employed Women-Women of Justice Chapter
- Building meaningful partnerships with faith-based organizations and nonprofits to extend our reach and impact in USA, Ukraine, Nigeria, and Australia
- Developed and managed comprehensive fiscal budget for government and non-profit organizations
- International speaker and human rights activist
What sets my approach apart is my unwavering belief in people’s capacity for growth and change. By focusing on strengths rather than deficits, we’ve seen remarkable transformations in individuals who many had written off.
As your Town Council member, I’ll bring this same collaborative spirit to our local government. I’ll advocate for evidence-based legislation that supports rehabilitation, strengthens our community safety nets, and creates pathways to recovery and success.
La Plata deserves leadership that understands the complex interplay between public safety, mental health, and community wellbeing. With your support, I’ll work tirelessly to build a more compassionate, inclusive, and resilient town for all residents.

She focuses on a holistic approach to governance ensuring that policies and legislation aid in the increased quality of life for individuals for generations to come.
