It is a daily thought of mine to become better. I want to grow and evolve so I take close introspective looks at myself. I ask myself the tough questions and I do the work to grow and mature. I do not believe that at a certain age you should stop self-reflecting.
I say often that every single human being is flawed. I say it because we sometimes look at celebrities or public figures and may see them on social media and assume they have their entire life together. That is just not true.
Therefore, we should never envy someone else because we all are just trying to figure out this thing called life. However, there are some who do not acknowledge their flaws. They actually hate or ridicule those who have the same exact issues they have. How is that possible? Yes, I ask the same thing myself. But many identify out. It is easier to look at someone else and not yourself. But we must stop ridiculing and demeaning those who do the very things we have done. Many people are ashamed of some of the things they have done and they walk in guilt. Carrying that kind of energy can be very toxic. So, some begin to lash out at others. For example I say, how dare you thrash a young girl who you say is fast or promiscuous but you had multiple sex partners in your youth as well. There are those who bash persons who are homosexual but they practice homosexuality as well. Or there are women who bash teens who get pregnant but they were pregnant as a teen as well and may have had an abortion or put the baby up for adoption. How can you hate in other what was in you, or the thing you did, or the thing that is still in you? We must stop with this hypocrisy!
There are many mothers who have kicked their teen daughters out the house because they learned their daughter was expecting. In this instance, I think more grace and compassion should be extended to those who have been where you have been. But often we see the reverse and we see much hate. I believe this happens because person’s have not taken time to heal their soul and inner wounds. Hate is projected which is a mask and a cover for the real hurt and pain that they carry in their soul.
We must come from a place of honesty and look at ourselves very deeply and introspectively. It is critical that persons heal their heart and soul! This type of freedom is possible. I believe there is no condemnation in Christ Jesus. Or for those who do not believe as I do, please do not beat yourself up for being flawed nor cast stones at others. There is no time to focus on others when we all have something to change within ourselves.
