Gratitude

Some days I get in this rut where I just want more. I have never been just a complacent person. But sometimes I miss having gratitude but not intentionally. It’s nothing wrong with reach for pinnacles in life. Strive strive. However, there are so many who have no way near what you have. I have a heart for humanity. But I remind myself to say thank you for what I have and to rejoice when I want to complain. In honesty I am blessed. I went to YouTube to search for videos of those who are in vulnerable communities. Some times you need a reminder of how fortunate you are. There are many in vulnerable communities like the IDP (Internally Displaced Persons) camps in Abuja, Nigeria. Many families have been ravished by the evil deeds from Boko Haram. Families uprooted from their home of origin and fleeing for their safety and their life. This is what happens in so many places around the world. Often we may complain that we do not have the house we want or the furniture we want. I am not saying we should not want things but sometimes it’s good to say thank you for what I do have. Look at the glass half full and not half empty. The late Wayne Dyer said, “if you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” There are those who do not have a safe place to lay their head at night. So, if you do that is something to be thankful about. I simply say thank you Lord. Lord forgive us all for not always being grateful as we should. #gratitude #countyourblessings #focusonwhatyoudohave
